Connect a 2GIG EDGE to a Wi-Fi network

The panel can be connected to a Wi-Fi network by either manually selecting the network or using Wireless Protected Setup (WPS). 

Once the system is connected to Wi-Fi, Dual-Path communication can also be enabled. For more information about enabling Dual-Path, see Enable or disable Dual-Path communication remotely

Important: Verify the customer has a 2.4 GHz network. If the customer has a dual-band router, try disabling or re-naming the 5 GHz network so that the panel only attempts to connect to the 2.4 GHz network.

To connect a 2GIG EDGE to Wi-Fi by selecting the wireless network name:

  1. On the home screen, tap .
  2. Enter the installer code or master code.
  3. Tap Installer Toolbox.
  4. Tap Panel programming
  5. Tap Network Settings.
  6. Tap Wireless.
  7. Tap to select the available wireless network name.
  8. Enter the wireless network’s password, and then tap Next
  9. Tap Connect.

To connect a 2GIG EDGE to Wi-Fi by using WPS:

  1. On the home screen, tap .
  2. Enter the installer code or master code.
  3. Tap Installer Toolbox.
  4. Tap Panel programming
  5. Tap Network Settings.
  6. Tap Wireless.
  7. Tap WPS.
  8. Locate and press the WPS button on the wireless router.
    • The location of the WPS button on the wireless router can vary. Consult the device’s user guide or contact the device manufacturer for more information.
  9. Once authorization is successful, tap Accept
