Event-triggered water valve rules automate a Z-Wave water valve to open or close based on security panel or sensor activity status.

To create an event triggered water valve automation rule using the website: 

Important: When selecting Open as the action to be performed for this rule, the rule will still run in the event of a water shut-off event. This may result in water damage to your home. Please consider this carefully before creating a rule that may involve opening a water valve.

  1. Log into the website.
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click + Add New Rule.
  4. Click Event-triggered Rule.
  5. In the Name of rule field, enter the desired rule for the name.
  6. In Automate My, click to select Water Valves.
  7. In When this event occurs, click to select the device that will trigger the Water Valve rule and use the dropdown menus to specify the conditions of the action.
  8. In the Perform this action, use the dropdown menu to specify what the water valve will do when triggered and select a time constraint.
  9. In Select Devices, click to select the water valves that will follow the rule.
  10. In During these time frames, click to select when the rule will be active.
    • At All Times the rule will be carried out any time of day.
    • Only during the following times will allow you to choose specific days and times that selected devices are automated by the rule.
  11. Verify the rule is configured with the correct settings.
  12. Click Save.

To edit an event-triggered water valve automation rule using the website:

  1. Log into the website.
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click  for the automation rule to be edited.
  4. Update the event-triggered water valve automation rule as desired.
  5. Verify the rule is configured with the correct settings.
  6. Click Save.
