How Can We Help?
Touch ID is an alternative for passcode access to the customer app. This is another method to help with securing access to the Alarm.com app in case the device is lost or stolen.
Compatibility
Touch ID is compatible with the following iOS devices:
- iPhone 5s +
- iPad Air 2
- iPad Mini 3 +
To turn on the Touch ID login feature for the app:
- Log into the app.
- Tap .
- Tap App Settings.
- Tap Touch ID & Passcode.
- Tap to enable the Touch ID toggle switch.
- Enter a 4-digit passcode. This is to use as a backup to Touch ID in case Touch ID doesn’t work.
- Tap OK on the pop-up message.
- Next time you open Alarm.com, you’ll be asked to scan your finger for Touch ID. You need to use one of the fingers that was used to set up Touch ID on the iOS device itself.
Note: If Touch ID is disabled through the iOS Settings and the Alarm.com app is opened, the app will ask for the 4 digit passcode that was set up as the backup in the app.
