How Does iPhone’s 3D Touch Feature Work With The Alarm.com App?

The app takes advantage of Apple’s 3D Touch capability (currently available on iPhone 6S and higher) and gives customers access to various Quick Actions right from the home screen.

Quick Actions available

• Arm Away
• Arm Stay
• Disarm
• Lock or Unlock Locks
• Open or Close Garage Doors
• View Cameras
• View Thermostats
• View Lights

How to set up:

1. Tap .
2. Tap App Settings.
3. Tap 3D Touch.
4. Tap Edit.
   • A prompt to enter your password may appear if Keep me logged in was not selected at login. This is required for 3D Touch features to work.
5. In More Items, tap  to add items to the 3D Touch list above. Tap  to remove items from the 3D Touch list. Use the drag handles on the right side of the 3D Touch list to reorder items. Up to four Quick Actions may be stored in the 3D Touch list.
   Note: To configure arming settings, tap .
    
6. When finished, tap Done.

How to use:

1. From the home screen, press firmly on the app icon to reveal the Quick Actions.
2. Tap the desired Quick Action.
   • Note: There may be a prompt to enter an app PIN or provide a Touch ID, if applicable.

Note: The Thermostat, Light, and Camera Quick Actions will open the app to the corresponding view, where it is possible to view or control the desired item.
