Voice Notifications User Guide

Voice Notifications is a feature that allows you to receive a phone call for notifications. 

There are two types of Voice Notifications:

• Voice Notifications for Alarms
• Voice Notifications for Non-Alarms

If there is an alarm, there is prompt to disarm. If there is a non-alarm event, a notification update is sent. 

Note: Voice notifications are only supported in the US and Canada. Voice Notifications are not available for Thermostat Alerts.

To add Voice Notifications using the website: 

1. Log into the website. 
2. Click Users. 
3. Click  , then  Edit for the user to receive voice notifications.
4. In Contact Information, click + Add Contact. 
5. Click Phone Number. 
6. In the Phone Number field, enter the phone number that will receive the notifications.
7. Using the Type dropdown menu, select the type of phone that will receive the notifications. 
8. Click Save. 
9. Click Notifications. 
10. Click on the notification to add voice notifications. 
11. Click + Add Recipient.
12. Click on users with a Voice number, then click Close.
    • Up to three voice notification numbers can be added to an Alarm notification. 
    • For Alarm notifications, click to select the notification order position for the recipient (i.e., 1ST will receive the first notification attempt). Each selection represents a notification attempt. If the alarm is not canceled after an attempt, the next attempt will be made about 90 seconds later.

      Note: A notification order position must be selected for the recipients of Alarm notifications. Once the Voice Notification successfully connects with a recipient, it will not perform additional notification attempts. 
       

13. Verify the recipients are set up correctly, then click Save.

To add Voice Notifications using the app: 

1. Log into the app. 
2. Tap . 
3. Tap Users. 
4. Tap  , then  Edit for the user to receive voice notifications.
5. In Contact Information, tap + Add Contact. 
6. Tap Phone Number. 
7. In the Phone Number field, enter the phone number that will receive the notifications.
8. Using the Type dropdown menu, select the type of phone that will receive the notifications. 
9. Tap Save. 
10. Tap .
11. Tap . 
12. Tap Notifications. 
13. Tap on the notification to add voice notifications. 
14. Tap + Add Recipient.
15. Tap on users with a Voice number, then tap Close.
    • Up to three voice notification numbers can be added to an Alarm notification. 

      Note: Once the Voice Notification successfully connects with a recipient, it will not perform additional notification attempts. 
       

16. Verify the recipients are set up correctly, then tap Save.
